The RTC5225 starter motor cranks the engine to start it. When energised it throws its pinion into mesh with the flywheel ring gear, spins the engine until it fires, then disengages. It draws heavy current from the battery through the starter solenoid. This one is for the 2.25L petrol engine on a 12-volt system.
