Coolant Feed Pipe - Turbocharger carries engine coolant from the cooling circuit to the turbocharger, forming part of the turbocharger water-cooling feed.

Coolant circulated through the turbocharger centre housing draws heat away from the bearing assembly, limiting heat soak after shutdown and helping to protect the turbo bearings. Fitted to the 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine.

Frequently asked questions

What does this turbocharger coolant feed pipe do?
This coolant feed pipe carries engine coolant to the turbocharger on the Range Rover Classic turbo-diesel. Coolant through the turbo centre housing draws heat away from the bearing assembly, limiting heat soak after shutdown and helping protect the turbo bearings. The Land Rover part number is NTC5173.
Which Range Rover does this coolant pipe fit?
This pipe fits the Range Rover Classic 1986-1994 with the 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. Early cars run to VIN HA610293, and the 1992-1994 VM diesel build runs from VIN JA610294. Check your build date and VIN against these, as the diesel spec changed mid-production.
Why would this coolant feed pipe need replacing?
Coolant pipes to the turbo typically corrode, split or weep at the unions with age and heat cycling. A leak here loses coolant and removes cooling from the turbo bearing, risking heat damage. It's usually renewed when corroded or leaking, often while doing other cooling or turbo work.
