Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Carburettor Vent Hose for venting the carburettor float chamber on the twin-carburettor induction system.

The hose connects to the float chamber vent, allowing the float bowl to breathe so fuel flows consistently as the chamber fills and empties. It is fitted to the V8 petrol twin-carburettor engine and should be renewed if perished or split to prevent fuel vapour leaks.

Frequently asked questions

What does the carburettor vent hose do on a V8 Land Rover?
The carburettor vent hose vents the float chamber on the twin-carburettor V8 petrol engine. It lets the float bowl breathe so fuel flows consistently as the chamber fills and empties. A perished or split hose lets fuel vapour escape, so it's renewed when it hardens or cracks.
Which Land Rover models and carburettors does part 613514 fit?
Part 613514 fits the Land Rover Defender (1987-2006) with the 3.5L V8 twin-carb petrol engine using Stromberg carburettors, and the Range Rover Classic (1986-1991) with the 3.5L V8 twin-carb running Solex carburettors. On the Defender it fits both detoxed (with EGR) and non-detoxed variants.
Why does the carburettor vent hose need replacing?
The carburettor vent hose is rubber and typically perishes, hardens or splits with age and fuel exposure on these older V8 models. A failed hose can leak fuel vapour and disrupt consistent fuel flow to the float chamber. Replace it once it's cracked or perished.
