Spring Nut A clip-on spring-steel fastener, also known as a speed nut, used across body, grille and chassis fittings.
It slides over a panel edge or locates in a pierced hole and grips a self-tapping or machine screw, forming a captive threaded anchor without a separate backing nut. The sprung arms hold tension on the thread to resist loosening under vibration.
