Rear Door Outer Waist Seal - Right-Hand fitted along the upper edge of the right-hand rear side door outer panel, sealing the interface between the outer panel and the door drop glass.

This rubber strip wipes against the exterior face of the window glass as it is raised and lowered, preventing water from tracking down the outer panel into the door cavity and limiting wind noise at the glass channel.

What is the ALR5982LR door outer waist seal and what does it do?
The ALR5982LR is the outer waist seal for the right-hand rear side door on the Land Rover Defender up to 2016. It runs along the top outer edge of the door and wipes the window glass as it moves, keeping water out of the door cavity and reducing wind noise. Genuine Land Rover part, LR number ALR5982.
Where on the door does this seal sit?
This seal sits on the outer face of the right-hand rear side door, along the waistline where the door skin meets the drop glass. It wipes the outside of the window as the glass moves. On the Defender this is a rear side door position, found on the 110 and 130 wheelbase station wagon bodies.
How many do I need, and is the other side the same part?
You'll typically need one ALR5982LR, as it covers the right-hand rear side door only, and it's sold individually. The left-hand rear door takes its own handed seal, and the front doors use different seals again. Order one per door position you're resealing.
How do I confirm this fits my Defender?
This fits the Land Rover Defender 1987 to 2016 with 110 or 130 wheelbase, which have rear side doors. The short-wheelbase 90 body doesn't use it. Confirm your door handing is right-hand and that your vehicle has rear side doors before ordering.
