Frequently asked questions

What is the ASR1681 glass channel used for?

The ASR1681 is the glass guide channel for the rear side door on the Discovery 2. It guides and locates the door glass as it raises and lowers, supporting smooth window travel within the door frame.

Where does the ASR1681 fit in the door?

The ASR1681 fits inside the rear side door of the Discovery 2, running along the glass edge to guide it. It's part of the door's window channel, keeping the glass aligned as it moves up and down.

What are the signs the rear door glass channel needs replacing?

A worn ASR1681 channel typically lets the Discovery 2 rear door glass rattle, bind, or move stiffly as it winds up and down. Perished or split channel rubber is the usual cause, and replacing it restores smooth, quiet window travel.
