Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Lug Nut is an M6 captive nut used to secure shields, brackets and body panels.

The nut is held in a sprung steel cage that clips over a panel edge or flange, retaining it so it cannot rotate or fall out. This allows a bolt to be driven home at a blind or hard-to-reach point and resists loosening under vibration.

Typical applications include underbody and engine splash shields, exhaust heat shields, undertrays and radiator grille mountings.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Lug Nut AYH100790 used for?
The Lug Nut AYH100790 is a captive caged nut that clips over a panel edge or flange to give a secure threaded fixing point. It's held in a sprung steel cage so it can't rotate or fall out, letting a bolt be driven home at blind or awkward spots. Typically used on underbody and engine splash shields, heat shields and undertrays.
How many of these captive nuts are needed for a shield or undertray job?
It depends on the panel. Splash shields, undertrays and heat shields are typically held by several captive nuts around their edges, so it's common to renew any that are corroded or have spun in their cage while the shield is off. They're sold individually, so order the count your panel needs.
Is this a wheel lug nut for road wheels?
No. Despite the Lug Nut name, AYH100790 is a captive cage nut for securing shields, brackets and body panels, not a wheel nut for road wheels. It clips onto a panel flange to provide a captive thread. If you need nuts for mounting road wheels, this isn't the right part.
