The fuel flap latch is the spring-loaded catch that holds the external fuel filler flap closed flush with the bodywork and releases it when actuated. It sits within the fuel filler recess and commonly fails when the flap no longer stays shut or won't pop open.
Which models does this fuel flap latch fit?
This fuel flap latch fits the Discovery 3 (2005-2009), Discovery 4 (2010-2016) and Range Rover Sport L320 (2005-2013). It fits the L320 Sport only, not the later L494 Range Rover Sport, so confirm your model generation before ordering.
Is the latch enough, or do I need the spring too?
The latch is one part of the fuel flap mechanism; the return spring is a separate item. If your flap won't stay closed the latch is usually the cause, but if it won't spring open the spring may also need replacing. Inspect both before ordering.
