Steering & Sump Guard - Left-Hand Drive is an underbody protection plate that shields the steering linkage and engine sump from impact and debris.

The main plate is 8mm aluminium with 8mm mounting brackets, pre-drilled to locate on the existing chassis fixing points and supplied with the required fixings. Front drainage and ventilation holes let water escape and maintain airflow to the cooling system. The LHD version is shaped to clear the left-hand-drive steering layout.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Steering & Sump Guard (LHD) used for?
The Steering & Sump Guard is an underbody protection plate that shields the steering linkage and engine sump from impact and debris. On the left-hand-drive Land Rover Defender it bolts to existing chassis fixing points and is shaped to clear the LHD steering layout.
Which Land Rovers does this LHD steering guard fit?
This LHD steering guard fits the left-hand-drive Land Rover Defender 90 and 110 up to 2016, including later Puma models. It's shaped specifically for the left-hand-drive steering layout, so it won't suit right-hand-drive vehicles.
Can this steering guard be fitted at home?
Yes, this steering guard is typically a bolt-on fit using the vehicle's existing chassis fixing points, and it's supplied with the required fixings. Basic hand tools and axle stands are usually enough, though a second person makes handling the plate easier.
Why is this the LHD version and does that matter?
This is the left-hand-drive version, shaped to clear the LHD steering layout on the Land Rover Defender. The steering box and linkage sit on the opposite side to a right-hand-drive car, so fitting the correct hand ensures the guard clears the steering components.
