DA5705 - Differential – Limited-Slip – 10-Spline – Rear
The helical gear design biases torque towards the wheel with more grip without relying on friction clutch packs, so the unit is maintenance-free and has no wearing clutch components.
This is a metric diff centre with metric bearings. Land Rover changed from imperial to metric differentials around 1983; to identify a casing, check the head of one of the four large journal end-cap bolts - an "8.8T" marking indicates a metric casing, no marking indicates an imperial casing. To fit this metric centre into an imperial casing the following additional parts are required: DA5712 spacer ring, DA5713 imperial bearing sleeves, and RTC3095 bearings (2 required).
