Frequently asked questions

What is the DYF100690 washer used for?

The DYF100690 forms part of the battery tray lid retention assembly on the Discovery 2. It's the seat that the turnbuckle clip engages against to hold the battery cover securely closed.

How does this washer work with the turnbuckle?

The turnbuckle, DZM100070, turns and locks against this washer to clamp the battery cover shut. The washer provides the fixed seating point; without it, the turnbuckle has nothing secure to lock against.

How many of these washers are needed?

A battery tray lid typically uses one washer paired with one turnbuckle to secure the cover, so a single DYF100690 is normally enough for one battery tray assembly.

How do I confirm this fits my Discovery?

This washer is listed for the Discovery 2 (1999 to 2004) only, it isn't the correct part for the Discovery 1 or Discovery 3 battery tray. Confirming your model generation avoids a mismatch.
