Brand Nural
Piston Assembly for the 4.2-litre XK six-cylinder engine, machined 0.020 in oversize for a cylinder block that has been rebored to the matching oversize.

The piston runs in the cylinder bore and connects through the gudgeon pin to the connecting rod, transferring combustion pressure to the crankshaft. This is the high-compression (9:1) version of the piston. Oversize pistons are fitted during an engine rebuild once the bores have been machined out to clean up wear or damage, so the piston-to-bore clearance suits the finished bore size.

Frequently asked questions

What is the +0.020in Oversize Piston Assembly for?
This piston assembly is machined 0.020in oversize for the 4.2-litre Jaguar XK six-cylinder engine, for a block that's been rebored to the matching oversize. The piston runs in the bore and connects through the gudgeon pin to the connecting rod. It's the high-compression 9:1 version.
When do I need an oversize piston instead of standard?
You need a 0.020in oversize piston when the cylinder block has been rebored 0.020in above standard to clean up bore wear or damage. The oversize piston restores correct piston-to-bore clearance in the machined bore. Measure your rebored cylinders before ordering, as the piston must match the finished bore size.
How many pistons does the 4.2 XK engine need?
The 4.2-litre XK six-cylinder engine uses six pistons, one per cylinder. This assembly is the 9:1 high-compression type. Pistons are fitted as a matched set during a rebuild once the bores are machined, so order six of the same oversize to keep the engine balanced.
