ERC6604 - Injection Pump – 2.25L Diesel – Exchange

The ERC6604 injection pump serves the 2.25L four-cylinder diesel fuel system. It meters pressurised fuel and delivers it to the injectors in firing sequence, governing engine fuelling and injection timing. A worn or failing pump directly affects starting, power and smoke, which is why accurate delivery matters.

Exchange means the ERC6604 is supplied on a like-for-like basis: your old, defective injection pump must be returned. This keeps the cost down and ensures the core is rebuilt. Send back the original pump once the replacement is fitted, following the return instructions with your order.

The ERC6604 fits the 2.25L diesel engine in the Land Rover Series II, IIA and III from 1968, and the early Defender built 1983 to 1986. It's specific to the 2.25L four-cylinder diesel, so confirm your engine before ordering, as later 2.5L diesels typically use a different pump.

Signs a 2.25L diesel injection pump is failing typically include hard starting, uneven running, loss of power, excessive smoke, or fuel leaking from the pump body. On these older engines seal and diaphragm deterioration are common causes. A pump that's lost calibration usually can't be adjusted back and needs replacing.
