Frequently asked questions

What is the ERR4461G drive belt used for?
The ERR4461G is the auxiliary serpentine drive belt for the V8 EFI petrol engine on applications without air conditioning. It transfers crankshaft rotation to the alternator, water pump and power steering pump. It's a Dayco belt.
Does this belt fit engines with air conditioning?
This belt is specific to V8 EFI setups without air conditioning, which use a different drive routing and belt length from A/C-equipped engines. It fits Discovery 1, Range Rover Classic and Range Rover P38 V8 EFI without A/C, the P38 up to VIN WA410481.
When should the serpentine belt be replaced?
A serpentine belt typically fails through cracking, glazing, rib loss or fraying with age and heat. If it breaks, the alternator, water pump and steering pump all stop, so it's renewed at any sign of wear.
