Frequently asked questions

What is the FRC9669 lower gearchange lever for?
The FRC9669 lower gearchange lever forms the lower section of the manual gearbox remote gearchange linkage. It connects the upper gearchange lever to the gearbox selector mechanism, passing the driver's lever movements through to the selector shaft so each gear can be engaged.
Which Land Rover models use this lower gearchange lever?
This lower gearchange lever fits the Land Rover Discovery 1 (1989-1998) and Range Rover Classic with the manual transmission remote gearchange, covering 4-cylinder and V8 petrol Discovery 1 applications. It's a Genuine Land Rover part for the remote linkage on those models.
What are the signs the lower gearchange lever needs replacing?
A vague or sloppy gearchange is the typical sign the lower gearchange lever or its pivot has worn. Excess play in the linkage usually makes gear selection feel imprecise or notchy. Renewing a worn lower lever usually tightens up the shift action on these manual gearboxes.
