Synchro Spring Ring from the mainshaft synchroniser assembly of the R380 five-speed manual gearbox.
The spring ring sits within the synchroniser hub and loads the baulk ring against the cone of the gear being selected, matching shaft and gear speeds before the sliding sleeve engages. A weakened spring reduces the pressure applied to the baulk ring and shows as poor synchromesh on the shift.
