What is the Silicone Turbo Hose Kit used for?
This kit carries pressurised charge air between the turbocharger, intercooler and inlet manifold on the Defender's 2.2L Td4 diesel. Silicone construction gives a wider temperature range than the standard rubber hose it replaces.
Does this fit all Puma-era Defender engines?
No. This kit only fits the 2.2L Td4 diesel fitted to the Defender (Puma) from 2007 to 2016. It doesn't fit the 2.4L Td4 or the earlier Td5 and 300Tdi engines, so check your engine code before ordering.
Are hose clips included with this kit?
No, hose clips aren't included. This is a two-piece hose kit only, so reuse your existing clips or order new ones separately if they're corroded or damaged.
Why do turbo and intercooler hoses need replacing on the Td4?
Silicone and rubber charge-air hoses harden and crack over time from heat cycling under boost pressure. A split or perished hose typically shows up as a loss of boost, black smoke under acceleration, or a hissing noise from the engine bay.
