Service kit containing the filters, sealing washer and engine oil for a routine service of the Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel.

This kit includes the engine oil filter, the centrifugal oil rotor filter, the air filter, the fuel filter, the sump plug sealing washer and 8 litres of 5W-30 engine oil.

The rotor filter is specific to the Td5 lubrication system and is renewed alongside the main oil filter at each service interval. The oil quantity supplied covers the engine oil change with a margin for topping up.

The GA6004COM contains the engine oil filter, centrifugal oil rotor filter, air filter, fuel filter, sump plug sealing washer and 8 litres of 5W-30 engine oil for a full Td5 service in one kit.

Why does the Td5 need a separate rotor filter as well as the main oil filter?

The Td5's lubrication system uses a centrifugal oil rotor filter alongside the conventional spin-on oil filter, and both should be renewed together at each service to keep the oil clean. Skipping the rotor filter while changing the main filter only does half the job.

Which Land Rovers take the GA6004COM Td5 service kit?

This kit fits the Defender and Discovery 2, both built between 1998 and 2006, when fitted with the Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel engine. It won't suit other engine variants, since filter and oil quantity requirements differ.
