Tailgate Rear Half Door Kit converts the original fold-down tailgate into a side-hinged half door, matching the style fitted as standard to Station Wagon bodies.

Replacing the drop-down tailgate with a hinged half door eases rear loading, frees usable load space and allows a swing-away spare wheel carrier to be fitted. It works within the rear body and tailgate aperture.

The kit supplies the door skin (finished in primer, ready for painting to the vehicle colour), the door lock assembly and lockset with two keys (non-central locking), two hinges, the striker, the check strap, the door seal, and the stud plates, plates and fixings required for installation.

Converting from a drop-down tailgate for the first time requires drilling the rear tub for the hinge and striker fixings. Vehicles already fitted with a three-hinge full rear door or a side-opening tailgate retain the existing mounting holes. Fitting mounts the hinges to the rear body capping, attaches the check strap and bracket, bolts the striker to the body and fits the handle and lockset to the door.
