Rebound Stop is a travel-limiting buffer in the rear suspension assembly, located at the rear knuckle and suspension arms.

It limits the downward (rebound) travel of the suspension, cushioning the suspension arm at the end of its extension stroke and protecting the linkage and damper from over-extension and metal-to-metal contact.

Frequently asked questions

What is the rebound stop used for?
The rebound stop is a travel-limiting buffer in the rear suspension of the Range Rover L322 (2002-2012). It limits the downward rebound travel of the suspension and cushions the suspension arm at the end of its extension stroke, protecting the linkage and damper from over-extension.
Where is the rebound stop located on the vehicle?
The rebound stop sits at the rear knuckle and suspension arms on the Range Rover L322. It works alongside the rear suspension linkage to stop metal-to-metal contact when the suspension drops to full extension.
What are the signs the rebound stop needs replacing?
The rubber buffer typically hardens, splits or crumbles with age, which is what makes a rebound stop fail. Signs include a knock or thud from the rear suspension at full droop, such as over speed bumps or off-road articulation on the Range Rover L322.
