Piston Assembly for the 1.8L K-Series four-cylinder petrol engine, part of the cranktrain within the cylinder block assembly.

The piston transmits combustion pressure through the gudgeon pin to the connecting rod and crankshaft. Its rings seal the combustion chamber against the cylinder bore, carry heat into the bore wall and control the oil film left on the bore.

Supplied as a piston assembly with piston rings. Pistons are replaced during engine overhaul, or when bore and ring wear cause loss of compression or raised oil consumption.
