Piston Assembly for the Td5 2.5L 5-Cylinder Turbo Diesel, part of the cranktrain within the cylinder block assembly. Oversize: 0.020 in (approximately 0.50 mm), for use with a cylinder block machined to the corresponding oversize.

The piston carries the combustion load through the gudgeon pin into the connecting rod and crankshaft, and the bowl in its crown forms the combustion chamber. The ring pack seals against the cylinder bore, conducts heat from the piston crown into the bore wall and controls the oil film on the bore.

Supplied as a piston assembly with piston rings. Piston-to-bore clearance should be checked against the workshop manual limits when overhauling the engine.
