Front Timing Cover for the V8 petrol engine, incorporating the engine oil pump.

Closes the front of the cylinder block over the timing gear and houses the oil pump, which is driven directly from the nose of the crankshaft. The cover also carries the crankshaft front oil seal and forms the sealing face for the front cover gasket, which is why a worn oil pump or a damaged cover face is addressed by replacing the cover as an assembly.

Renew the front cover gasket and the crankshaft front oil seal when refitting, and check that the cover is correctly aligned to the crankshaft before final tightening.
