Parking Brake Shoe and Lining Kit, supplied as an axle set covering both sides of the rear axle.

The parking brake is a drum-in-hat arrangement: the shoes sit inside the hat section of the rear brake disc and are expanded against it by the parking brake operating lever when the handbrake is applied. Worn or contaminated linings are the usual reason a parking brake will not hold on a slope, or needs excessive lever travel before it bites.

Both sides should be renewed together so the parking brake holds evenly, and the shoes adjusted once fitted.
