Cam Cover Gasket - seals the camshaft cover to the cylinder head on the 2.2L TD4 diesel engine (DW12).

It forms the oil-tight joint at the top of the cylinder head, containing engine oil around the camshafts and valvetrain and preventing leaks at the cover mating face. Renewed whenever the cam cover is removed.

This gasket seals the camshaft cover to the cylinder head on the 2.2L TD4 diesel (DW12) engine. It forms the oil-tight joint at the top of the head, keeping engine oil contained around the camshafts and valvetrain on the Freelander 2, Evoque L538 and Discovery Sport.
When should this gasket be replaced?
Replace this gasket whenever the cam cover is removed, and if you notice oil seeping from the top of the cylinder head. These gaskets harden with heat and age, so an old one typically leaks oil once disturbed. It's a standard renew-on-removal item.
Which engine does it fit?
This gasket fits the 2.2L TD4 diesel (DW12) engine used in the Freelander 2 (2006-2014), Range Rover Evoque L538 (2012-2018) and Discovery Sport (2015 on). It doesn't fit the petrol or other diesel variants, so confirm your engine before ordering.
