Fuel Pressure Relief Valve is fitted to the high-pressure common-rail fuel system of the 2.4L Duratorq TDCi diesel engine.

Mounted on the fuel rail, it limits maximum rail pressure by opening to return excess fuel to the tank, protecting the injection system from overpressure and stabilising rail pressure during engine operation.

Frequently asked questions

What does the fuel pressure relief valve do?
The fuel pressure relief valve limits pressure in the common-rail fuel system on the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi Defender, venting excess fuel back to keep rail pressure within range. It's an OEM valve mounted on the fuel rail of the Puma diesel engine.
Where is the pressure relief valve located?
The fuel pressure relief valve is fitted to the high-pressure fuel rail on the 2.4 TDCi Puma engine. It sits in the common-rail circuit, so it's accessed at the rail when diagnosing fuel pressure faults.
Which Defender does this valve fit?
This fuel rail pressure relief valve fits the Defender 2007-2016 with the 2.4L Duratorq-TDCi 140PS Puma diesel, VIN 7A000001 to BA999999. Confirm your engine is the 2.4 TDCi before ordering.
What are the signs of a faulty pressure relief valve?
A faulty rail pressure relief valve usually shows as fuel pressure fault codes, hard starting, or a limp-home condition on the 2.4 TDCi. A valve that leaks or opens early lowers rail pressure, so it's checked when diagnosing rail pressure problems.
