What is this M10 nut used for?
This M10 nut retains the engine splash and heat shielding to the chassis frame on the Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport L320. It threads onto the shield fixing that passes through the shield into the frame.
How many of these nuts are needed?
Two of these M10 nuts are fitted per vehicle for the engine shield. Count the fixings on your shield before ordering, as a full shield removal disturbs both.
Should the nut be reused or replaced?
Renew the nut whenever the fixing is disturbed and the thread is found damaged or corroded. A corroded shield nut on the Discovery 4 or L320 can seize and round off on removal.
