Timing Gear Bolt from the engine timing drive, securing the camshaft sprocket and variable camshaft timing adjuster to the camshaft.

It provides the clamping load that locks the sprocket to the camshaft, so cam-to-crank phasing is held against the torque of the timing chain drive. Used on the V8 petrol and supercharged V6 petrol engines; it is not part of the diesel timing drive.

What is the timing gear bolt used for?
The timing gear bolt secures the camshaft sprocket and the variable camshaft timing adjuster to the camshaft. It provides the clamping load that holds cam-to-crank phasing against the timing chain drive on the petrol V8 and supercharged V6.
Which engines use this timing bolt?
It's used on the petrol engines only, the 5.0 V8 AJ133 and the 3.0 V6 supercharged petrol. It isn't part of any diesel timing drive, so it won't suit the TDV6 or TDV8.
How many of these bolts will I need?
