Front timing cover - the lower centre cover that closes the front face of the cylinder block over the timing chain drive.

It carries the crankshaft front oil seal, which runs on the crankshaft nose behind the front pulley, and must be removed to reach the timing chains. Both mating faces need to be cleaned back to bare metal before the cover is refitted.

For the 5.0L V8 (AJ133) and 3.0L supercharged V6 GDI petrol engines.
