Brake Booster Kit supplying the vacuum brake servo that sits between the brake pedal pushrod and the master cylinder in the braking hydraulic circuit.

The servo uses vacuum acting on a large diaphragm to multiply the driver's pedal effort before it reaches the master cylinder, so full braking force is available with modest pedal pressure. A hard pedal that needs unusually high effort, a noticeable increase in stopping distance, or a hiss from the bulkhead as the pedal is applied all point to a failed servo or to a loss of its vacuum supply.

The servo is a safety-critical assembly and is renewed rather than overhauled in service.
