What does the Rocker Cover do?
The Rocker Cover seals the top of the 2.2L DW12 diesel cylinder head over the camshafts and valvetrain. Also called the camshaft or cylinder head cover, it encloses the upper head and keeps engine oil contained within the valvetrain. This is the OEM version from Allmakes OE.
Which models and engine does it fit?
It fits the 2.2L Td4 diesel (DW12) in the Discovery Sport (2015 on), Freelander 2 (2006-2014) and Range Rover Evoque L538 (2012 on, from VIN BH000001). It's engine-specific to the 2.2 DW12 diesel, so confirm your engine before ordering.
Why do rocker covers get replaced on the 2.2 diesel?
On the 2.2 DW12 diesel the rocker cover is typically renewed when it cracks, warps or the integrated seal leaks oil, or when an internal breather element fails. A leaking cover usually shows as oil on the head, so replacing it restores a clean oil seal.
