Variable Valve Timing Solenoid - Inlet for the 2.0L 16V TiVCT turbocharged petrol engine, controlling oil flow to the intake camshaft phaser.

The solenoid meters engine oil to the variable valve timing actuator on the intake camshaft, allowing the engine management system to advance or retard intake valve timing. This is the intake-side solenoid; the exhaust camshaft uses a separate solenoid. Fits petrol engines only.

Is this the inlet or exhaust VVT solenoid?
This is the inlet (intake) camshaft VVT solenoid, JLR callout 6L713B. The exhaust-side solenoid is a separate part (callout 6L713A). On the 2.0L petrol engine they look similar, so match the intake position before fitting.
What are the symptoms of a failing VVT solenoid?
A failing intake VVT solenoid on the 2.0L petrol engine typically triggers a rough idle, a cam timing fault code, reduced power, or a check engine light. Contaminated oil or a stuck solenoid usually causes it, so clean oil helps these last.
Does this fit petrol and diesel engines?
This VVT solenoid fits the 2.0L 16V TiVCT petrol engine only. It does not fit diesel variants. It supersedes the earlier LR024995 part number, so it is the current replacement for that reference.
