Brand GKN
Rear Propshaft forming the driveline link between the transfer box and the rear axle.

It transmits drive from the transfer box rear output to the rear axle differential input flange. A universal joint at each end accommodates the changing angle between the two flanges as the axle moves on its suspension, and a sliding splined section allows the shaft to lengthen and shorten as that distance varies under articulation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the LR030049 propshaft and what does it do?
The LR030049 is the rear propshaft for the Range Rover L322. It transmits drive from the transfer box rear output to the rear axle differential input flange, using a universal joint at each end and a sliding splined section to cope with suspension movement. It's a GKN unit.
How do I confirm the LR030049 fits my Range Rover?
The LR030049 fits the Range Rover L322 from 2010 to 2012, from VIN AA000001. It's the later rear propshaft for that generation, so check your VIN and build date to confirm which shaft your L322 uses before ordering.
Which part numbers does the LR030049 replace?
The LR030049 is listed with alternative numbers LR022574, TVB500530, TVB500400 and TVB500380. These are cross-references for the L322 rear propshaft, so if your vehicle shows one of those older numbers, the LR030049 is typically the equivalent replacement.
Why does the rear propshaft fail on the L322?
Rear propshafts usually fail through worn universal joints or a worn sliding spline, producing a vibration or a clunk on drive take-up from under the L322. Worn UJs can seize, so a propshaft with play or roughness at the joints typically needs replacing.
Is the LR030049 hard to fit?
Fitting the LR030049 is a bolt-on job at each flange. The flanges must be aligned and the fasteners torqued to the workshop manual specification, since a loose propshaft flange is a safety concern on the L322. It's typically a job for a ramp and a second pair of hands.
