Brake Pad Wear Sensor - Front The electronic brake pad wear sensor for the front axle, part of the braking system's pad-wear warning circuit. It locates in the front brake caliper alongside the pads.

The sensor carries a wire loop set near the friction surface of the pad. As the pad wears down to its service limit, contact with the brake disc breaks the loop, signalling the instrument cluster to display the brake pad wear warning so the pads are replaced before the friction material is exhausted.
