Crankshaft Front Oil Seal seals the crankshaft nose at the front of the 2.2L TD4 diesel engine.

It runs on the crankshaft snout where it passes through the timing cover, retaining engine oil in the front timing area and excluding contaminants. A hardened or worn seal produces an oil leak at the crankshaft pulley and, if neglected, can contaminate the timing drive.
