Reversing Lamp Switch is a threaded switch that screws into the manual gearbox housing and detects when reverse gear is selected, closing the circuit that illuminates the rear reversing lamps.

Mounted on the MT82 six-speed manual transmission, it is actuated by the movement of the reverse selector inside the gearbox. A failed switch leaves the reversing lamps permanently off, and is a common cause of reverse-light faults.
