Lambda Sensor - exhaust gas oxygen sensor in the exhaust after-treatment system of the 2.0L Ingenium diesel engine (AJ200D / AJ20D4), working with the diesel particulate filter.

The sensor measures residual oxygen in the exhaust stream and reports it to the engine management system, which uses the reading to trim fuelling and to govern diesel particulate filter regeneration. A drifting or failed sensor typically shows as a stored fault code, raised emissions and disrupted or incomplete regeneration cycles.

The sensor threads into a boss in the exhaust; the harness must be routed and secured as originally fitted to keep the lead clear of hot surfaces.
