The filter is the final stage of filtration before air reaches the cabin vents. Its PM2.5 media adds a barrier against fine airborne particulate matter of 2.5 micrometres and below, in addition to the pollen, dust and soot retained by a standard cabin filter. It is a direct alternative to the standard-specification interior filter and uses the same housing.

This is a scheduled service item. Reduced vent output at every fan speed, or a persistent stale odour from the ventilation system, indicates the filter is due for renewal.
