Rear Brake Disc - Cross-Drilled & Grooved - a vented rear-axle brake rotor forming part of the rear disc-brake assembly.

The disc is bolted to and rotates with the rear wheel hub; under braking the caliper presses the brake pads against both friction faces to convert momentum into heat, while the internally vented construction places cooling vanes between the two faces to dissipate it. The friction faces are cross-drilled and grooved: the drillings and machined grooves vent gas and dust from the pad contact patch, aid cooling and continually clean the pad surface for more consistent bite under repeated heavy braking.
