Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Oil Cooler O-Ring seals the oil cooler connection within the engine oil cooling circuit, containing engine oil at the cooler joint and preventing leakage where oil is routed through the cooler.

Fitted to the 2.5L KV6 V6 petrol and 2.0L diesel engines. The O-ring is renewed whenever the oil cooler or its housing is disturbed, restoring a leak-tight seal on reassembly.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Oil Cooler O-Ring do?
The Oil Cooler O-Ring seals the oil cooler connection on the Freelander 1, fitted to the 2.5 KV6 petrol and 2.0 diesel engines. It contains engine oil at the cooler joint and prevents leaks where oil is routed through the cooler.
When should the oil cooler O-ring be replaced?
Renew the oil cooler O-ring whenever the oil cooler or its housing is disturbed. It's an inexpensive seal, so fitting a new one on reassembly avoids an oil leak and a repeat job.
What are the signs the O-ring has failed?
A failed oil cooler O-ring typically shows up as engine oil weeping or dripping from the oil cooler connection. Left unsealed, it can let oil escape from the cooling circuit, so it's usually renewed once it seeps.
Which engines does this O-ring fit?
It fits the Land Rover Freelander 1 with the 2.5 KV6 petrol (automatic) and the 2.0 Rover diesel engine. Confirm your engine with the VIN before ordering.
