Frequently asked questions

What does this rocker cover gasket do on the 4.4 V8?
The rocker cover gasket seals the valve cover to the cylinder head on the Range Rover L322 4.4 M62 V8, keeping engine oil in and dirt out. This one covers cylinders 1-4, one bank of the M62 BMW-sourced engine. Land Rover part number LR003812.
Which cylinder bank does this gasket fit?
This gasket fits cylinders 1-4 on the Range Rover L322 4.4 V8 (M62 B44). The V8 uses a separate cover and gasket for each bank, so a full job usually also needs the matching gasket for cylinders 5-8. Confirm which bank is leaking before ordering.
Why do rocker cover gaskets leak on the L322 V8?
Rocker cover gaskets harden and shrink with engine heat over time, letting oil weep down the side of the M62 V8. Typical signs are oil around the cover edge, a burning smell, or oil in the spark plug tubes. Replacing the gasket stops the leak.
