Throttle body heater plate for the 4.0L and 4.6L EFi Rover V8 petrol engine, fitted to the underside of the throttle body.

The plate carries engine coolant through the base of the throttle body housing so that the throttle plate and its bore are kept warm, preventing moisture in the incoming air from freezing on the throttle plate in cold, damp conditions. It sits in the coolant circuit and is fed by hoses from the cooling system.

The plate is a recognised source of coolant seepage on these engines. Inspect the joint faces and the gasket whenever coolant loss around the throttle body is being traced, and bleed the cooling system after refitting.
