Fuel Injector - fuel injection system, cylinder head. Td5 2.5L 5-cylinder turbo diesel.

The Td5 uses electronic unit injectors: each injector sits in its own bore in the cylinder head, is actuated mechanically by the camshaft through a rocker to generate injection pressure, and is metered electrically by a solenoid under engine ECM control. Injection timing and delivered quantity are therefore set by the engine management rather than by a separate high-pressure pump.

This is the early blue-coded injector, the lower peak-pressure calibration used ahead of the later green-coded specification. The colour code identifies the calibration, and the two types are not interchangeable within one engine.

Supplied as a reconditioned unit. The injector sealing washer is renewed on refitting.
