Frequently asked questions

What does the rear window regulator do on a Defender?
The rear window regulator (right-hand) is the mechanism that raises and lowers the rear side door glass on the Land Rover Defender. It mounts inside the rear side door and carries the glass on its lifting channel, winding it up and down through the regulator gear. Supplied as a single RH regulator.
Which Defender variants does this rear regulator fit?
This rear window regulator fits the Land Rover Defender 110 and 130 wheelbase only, on the right-hand rear side door. The 90 has no rear side doors, so it doesn't apply. Confirm you need the right-hand side before ordering.
Can the rear window regulator be fitted at home?
Fitting the rear window regulator is usually a moderate DIY job on the Defender. The rear side door trim and glass typically need removing to reach and unbolt the regulator. Basic hand tools usually cover it, though handling the door glass safely is the main thing to watch.
