Rubber Buffer moulded door stop pad fitted within the door check and hinge mechanism.

The buffer cushions the door against its check arm and limits travel at the end of the hinge stroke, absorbing the contact so the door comes to rest quietly and without metal-to-metal shock. It serves the same function on the side door check strap and on the rear end door check mechanism. Perished or compressed buffers allow the door to over-travel and rattle, and are renewed as a wear item.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MWC5759 rubber buffer used for?
The MWC5759 rubber buffer is a moulded door stop pad that cushions the door against its check arm on the Land Rover Defender (up to 2016). It absorbs the contact at the end of the hinge stroke so the door comes to rest without metal-to-metal shock.
Where on the Defender is the rubber buffer fitted?
The rubber buffer fits the front door hinge and check strap, and the same buffer serves the rear end door check mechanism on the Land Rover Defender (up to 2016). A perished or compressed buffer lets the door over-travel and rattle.
How many rubber buffers should I order?
Order one rubber buffer per door check point you are refreshing on the Defender. They are usually renewed together across the doors when several have perished, since age and weather affect them all at a similar rate.
