Fir Tree Fastener push-in fixing used to retain body trim and exterior panels against the bodywork.

The tapered fir-tree shank pushes into a pre-drilled hole, where its stacked flexible ribs lock against the panel to hold the trim firmly without threaded hardware. The ribbed profile resists pull-out while still allowing the fastener to be driven home by hand. These fasteners are renewed whenever trim is removed, as the ribs deform on extraction and lose their grip.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MWC5763LOY fir tree fastener used for?
The MWC5763LOY fir tree fastener is a push-in fixing that retains body trim and exterior panels against the bodywork on the Land Rover Defender (up to 2016). The stacked ribs lock into a pre-drilled hole, holding the trim firmly without threaded hardware.
How many fir tree fasteners are needed for a trim panel?
Fir tree fasteners are typically used several to a trim panel, so order to the number of fixing points on the section you are removing. A few spares are worth having, as the ribs deform on extraction.
Can the fir tree fastener be reused?
Fir tree fasteners are typically single-use. The ribbed shank deforms as it is pulled from the panel and loses its grip, so renew the fastener whenever body trim is removed on the Defender.
