Supercharger Drive Belt for the supercharged 4.0 litre AJ16 inline-six petrol engine.

The belt transmits crankshaft rotation to the supercharger pulley, driving the blower that generates boost. It runs on its own dedicated circuit, separate from the belt driving the alternator and remaining ancillaries, so supercharger drive is independent of the ancillary belt run.

Belt condition bears directly on boost delivery: slip, glazing or rib damage reduces blower speed and therefore charge pressure, showing as a loss of power under load. Replace the belt together with its tensioner where that component is also worn, and inspect the pulley faces for wear before fitting a new belt.
