Frequently asked questions

What does the NRC5975 PAS hose do?
The NRC5975 PAS hose is the low-pressure supply hose on the power steering circuit, feeding fluid from the reservoir to the inlet of the steering pump. It forms the suction side of the system, ahead of the high-pressure feed to the steering box on the Defender 90 and 110.
Which Defenders does this PAS hose fit?
It fits power-steering-equipped Defender 90 and 110 up to VIN (V)JA918809. Vehicles past that VIN break use a different hose, so check your chassis number before ordering to confirm you're on the early build.
What are the signs this PAS hose needs replacing?
Low-pressure power steering hoses typically perish, crack or weep with age. Common signs are fluid seeping at the hose, a dropping reservoir level, or air drawn into the pump causing foaming and a whine when turning. Replace it once the hose is soft or leaking.
