Exhaust Heat Shield for the front of the exhaust system.

The heat shield mounts over the exhaust to reflect and contain radiated heat, protecting nearby components, wiring and the underbody from high exhaust temperatures. Replace when the shield is corroded, cracked or has worked loose, as a missing or rattling shield no longer protects the surrounding area from heat.

Frequently asked questions

What is the NRC9733 front exhaust heat shield and what does it do?
The NRC9733 front exhaust heat shield mounts over the front of the exhaust on the Defender to reflect and contain radiated heat. It protects nearby wiring, components and the underbody from high exhaust temperatures. A Genuine Land Rover part for the four-cylinder Defender.
Which Defender engines does this heat shield fit?
This front heat shield fits the four-cylinder Defender (1987-2006), covering the naturally aspirated diesel up to VIN BA267063 and the 2.25L petrol up to VIN AA267063. It's engine and VIN specific, so check your chassis number before ordering.
When should an exhaust heat shield be replaced?
An exhaust heat shield typically needs replacing when it's corroded, cracked or has worked loose and rattles. Once it's damaged or missing it no longer shields surrounding parts from exhaust heat, which can scorch wiring or nearby components. A rattle from the exhaust area is a common giveaway.
