Radiator for the engine cooling system, supplied with an integral oil cooler section.

Coolant leaving the engine enters the top tank, passes down through the core where airflow across the fins removes heat, and returns to the water pump from the bottom outlet. The oil cooler built into the radiator runs a separate circuit through the same assembly, so oil temperature is controlled by the same airflow rather than by a remote cooler.

For 2.5L 4-cylinder petrol applications specified with an oil cooler.

The NTC3283 radiator cools the engine coolant on the Land Rover Defender with the 2.5L 4-cylinder carburettor or naturally aspirated petrol engine. It includes an integral oil cooler. Land Rover reference ESR78, supplied as an aftermarket replacement.
What does the oil cooler on this radiator do?
The oil cooler built into the NTC3283 radiator lowers oil temperature by passing it through a section of the radiator. It's specified for the 2.5L 4-cylinder petrol Defender. If your original radiator has the oil cooler ports, you need this version to match.
